Udupi — Yet another traffic mishap has taken place along National Highway 66 in Kota, adding to the growing list of road accidents in the area.

The incident occurred shortly after the junction that leads to the Sri Amrutheshwari Temple in Kota. A two-wheeler collided with a four-wheeler that was moving from the western side of the road toward the east.

According to eyewitness accounts, the scooter rider, who was travelling from Kundapura, appeared to panic upon spotting the oncoming car. In an attempt to avoid the vehicle, the rider lost control, resulting in a crash.

Fortunately, the individual sustained only minor injuries and did not suffer any life-threatening harm. Immediate help from passersby and local residents ensured the injured rider received timely first aid.

Authorities confirmed that the entire episode was recorded by a nearby CCTV camera, which is expected to assist in clarifying the exact sequence of events. The footage may also be useful for traffic enforcement officials to address speeding and right-of-way violations along this busy stretch.

Residents have voiced growing concerns over frequent accidents on this particular segment of NH-66. Many are urging for stricter speed monitoring, better signages, and the installation of rumble strips or speed breakers to enhance road safety.

The accident serves as yet another reminder for motorists to maintain speed limits, stay alert, and approach intersections with extra caution to prevent such mishaps.
