Udupi: The Sahaja Yoga Parivar recently conducted a self-realization and health awareness camp at three locations — Kaup Municipality, Bannanjeya Narayana Guru premises, and Krishna Math Rajangana, Udupi — promoting inner peace through meditative yoga practices.
Inaugurating the session at Krishna Math Rajangana, Ramesh Bhat, representative of Puttige Math, emphasized the spiritual dimension of yoga. He stated that while physical asanas are visible, true yoga goes beyond bodily movements and resides in inner silence and deep meditation.
“Yoga connects to the mind, not just the body. Only in silence can we experience self-realization, and through that, perceive the divine presence within. God resides in each of us. Silent meditation allows that divine force to be felt and seen in our hearts,” he said.
Bhat elaborated that to truly connect with Lord Krishna, one must engage in silent introspection near his idol, enabling the soul’s energy to unite with the divine source. This practice, he added, brings joy, serenity, and clarity to one’s life.
The event saw the active participation of spiritual and yoga leaders including Padma Gangadhar, Vishnumurthy Udupa (President, Sahaja Yoga Parivar Udupi Center), and volunteers Naveen Shetty, Govardhan Thingalaya, and Abhishek, who encouraged attendees to adopt regular meditation for holistic well-being.
The camp underscored the growing interest in mindful living and inner awakening in today’s fast-paced world.
