A tragic collision on October 7 claimed the life of Veeraj (18), a college student from Hiriyadka, near MGM College, Kunijibettu, Udupi. Veeraj, an undergraduate at Thenkanidiyoor College, was riding his bike on the Udupi-Manipal national highway 169A, where traffic diversions due to construction on the Indrali railway bridge have complicated the route.

The accident occurred when a car traveling from Manipal to Udupi collided with Veeraj’s bike, leading to severe injuries. Though he was rushed to Udupi District Government Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries en route. A case has been registered for further investigation.
