Udupi: Former MLA from Udupi and BJP leader, K. Raghupathi Bhat, has been expelled from the party. Bhat, who is contesting as an independent candidate from the South West Graduates’ Constituency after being denied a ticket by the BJP, has been suspended for six years.

Just a few days ago, he was served a notice by the disciplinary committee, asking for his response regarding his decision to contest the election against the party’s official candidate. Despite efforts by the BJP to persuade him, their attempts proved unsuccessful.
