
Udupi: Four Arrested For Selling Ganja and MDMA Powder
Udupi: The Sen Crime Branch police have arrested four individuals attempting to sell banned substances, including ganja and MDMA powder, on the Udupi-Karkala highway.
The accused were identified as Premnath (23) from Kurkalu village, Shailesh Shetty (24) from Perdur, Prajwal (28), and Ratan (27), both from Bommarabettu. Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted the group at Neere, leading to the seizure of MDMA (37.27 grams) and ganja (1.112 kilograms), valued at ₹2.87 lakh.
The raid also uncovered five mobile phones, ₹41,000 in cash, ₹7,130 in cash, and additional items, including bags used for drug transport. The total value of seized assets is estimated at ₹7.86 lakh.
Preliminary interrogation revealed that Premnath had sourced the MDMA powder from Bengaluru. A case has been filed at the Sen Crime Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
