Udupi: Karnataka Upalokayukta Justice B Veerappa conducted unexpected inspections across multiple locations in Udupi on Saturday morning. Expressing discontent over poor administration, he ordered case registrations and issued warnings of legal action.

The first stop was at the Varamballi Gram Panchayat’s waste disposal unit in Brahmavar, where a recent fire had occurred. Justice Veerappa was frustrated that the charred remains were still uncleared. He directed the Lokayukta police to initiate legal proceedings.

Next, he reviewed the APMC in Adi Udupi, evaluating drinking water availability and sanitary conditions. Finding poor water supply and filthy toilets, he ordered a case to be filed against those responsible.

Lastly, at the Kaup Municipality dumping yard, he was angered by the absence of municipal officers. Issuing a strict warning, he cautioned officials about facing legal repercussions if lapses continued.
