Kumta: A cylinder blast incident occurred at the house of Kumta MLA Dinakar Shetty’s brother in Koppalkarwadi ward of Kumta city, Uttara Kannada district. The house belongs to Madhukar Shetty, brother of MLA Dinakar Shetty. The gas cylinder had leaked while the occupants were out of the house. The cylinder exploded as they returned to their house.
Madhukar Shetty’s wife, Lata Shetty, was startled by the cylinder explosion. She narrowly escaped a life-threatening situation. The loud explosion sound has shocked the local residents. The blast caused a fire inside the house, burning furniture, TV, and other items worth lakhs of rupees.
Lata Shetty suffered minor injuries in the incident. Kumta police and fire department personnel visited the site and successfully extinguished the fire.
