HASSAN: A tragic incident unfolded in Doddasalavar village of Belur taluk in Hassan district, where a 50-year-old man, identified as Harish, allegedly shot his wife Jaji (45) to death following a dispute. Subsequently, Harish took his own life.
According to Arehalli police, the couple had a history of regular quarrels over minor issues. On the night of June 17, their altercation escalated, resulting in Harish fatally shooting his wife with a gun found in their home. After committing the act, he hanged himself.
Local residents, upon hearing the gunshot, discovered Jaji injured and promptly notified the police. Arehalli Police arrived at the scene, initiated an investigation, and subsequently transferred the bodies for post-mortem examinations.
Authorities have registered a case in connection with the incident, highlighting the devastating consequences of domestic disputes and the importance of addressing underlying issues to prevent such tragedies.
