Mangaluru: Devotees celebrating Sankashti today had a hard time circumambulating the deity after rainwater entered the sanctum sanctorum on the premises of Padubidri Sri Mahaganapathi Mahalingeshwara Temple.

The problem that has not existed in so many years is increasing in the present three years. The reason is the inadequate work on the national highway. Without proper drains, road water, hotel water, and all the polluted water from the market gets accumulated inside the temple. This makes it difficult for the devotees to come inside the temple. An appeal has also been made to all concerned departments, panchayats, and MLAs in this regard. The chief priest of the temple lamented that no one had paid much attention to the issue.
