Alia Bhatt opts for an ivory chikankari saree

For the Mijwan showcase, Alia wore a custom ivory chikankari saree designed by Manish Malhotra. Styled by Rhea Kapoor, the ensemble combined traditional embroidery with a contemporary silhouette.

The saree featured intricate chikankari work along with sequins, silver embellishments and scalloped borders. Alia paired it with a modern blouse that provided a contrast to the traditional detailing of the saree.

She draped the pallu over one shoulder and completed the look with a matching veil, adding a dramatic element to the runway appearance. The combination of ivory tones, detailed embroidery and contemporary styling reflected the craftsmanship associated with the Mijwan collection.

Alia and Vicky posed together during the showcase, with their appearance drawing attention ahead of their upcoming film collaboration.

Vicky Kaushal calls the runway walk special

Vicky also shared pictures from the event on Instagram and spoke about the significance of Mijwan beyond its association with fashion.

“Walking for something that has always stood for so much more than fashion,” Vicky wrote, while marking 15 years of Mijwan. He described the initiative as a journey of meaningful work built around the belief that empowerment can begin with a single opportunity.

Vicky then highlighted his runway appearance with Alia, saying that sharing the walk with her made the occasion “even more special”.

He thanked Malhotra, Azmi and Goyal for bringing the actors together for a cause that, according to him, continues to make a difference.

Vicky complements Alia in a midnight-blue sherwani

For the showcase, Vicky wore a midnight-blue and ivory sherwani set from Manish Malhotra’s Mijwan collection.

His outfit featured a white kurta and matching flared trousers, paired with a midnight-blue bandhgala jacket. The jacket incorporated chikankari embroidery and sequin detailing, keeping the traditional craftsmanship at the centre of the look.

The bandhgala featured a collared neckline, padded shoulders and full-length sleeves. Side slits and a single-button fastening added a structured, contemporary finish to the outfit.

The contrasting ivory and midnight-blue palette also complemented Alia’s ivory saree, giving the two showstoppers a coordinated appearance on the runway.

Alia and Vicky reunite for Love And War

The Mijwan showcase comes ahead of Alia and Vicky’s much-awaited on-screen collaboration in Love And War. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the upcoming film stars the two actors alongside Ranbir Kapoor.

The film marks another collaboration between Alia and Bhansali after Gangubai Kathiawadi. Vicky and Alia’s presence in the project has also generated interest among audiences, particularly because of their pairing and the addition of Ranbir to the cast.

Their Mijwan appearance therefore offered fans a glimpse of the two actors together before their next major cinematic collaboration reaches audiences.

A celebration beyond fashion

The 15th anniversary Mijwan showcase combined designer fashion with the larger objective of highlighting traditional craftsmanship and creating opportunities for artisans. Alia and Vicky’s participation brought additional attention to the initiative, while their social media posts focused on the people and work behind the showcase.

As the two actors continue their preparations for Love And War, their appearance together at the Mijwan event provided a fashion moment as well as a celebration of their upcoming collaboration.
