In a tragic and disturbing incident, a 26-year-old man strangled his mother to death in Manipal, within the Udupi district, allegedly over financial issues and a family dispute.
The victim, Padmabai (45), had been admitted to Udupi District Government Hospital on the night of June 18 due to hip pain. That same night, her son Isha Nayak contacted her sister Shilpa, requesting money for her treatment. Shilpa sent the money digitally.
