Mandya: In a sorrowful event, three individuals lost their lives by drowning in the backwaters of KRS in Srirangapatna, Mandya. The victims have been identified as Harish, Nanjunda, and Jyothi, all of whom were part of a tour group. The unfortunate incident occurred in the KRS backwaters at Srirangapatna in Mandya district. It has been reported that the deceased were employees affiliated with the Karunya Trust in Mysuru.
During the tour on Sunday, a group of 25 staff members had gathered, taking advantage of the holiday. Tragically, one individual drowned while engaging in recreational activities in the backwaters of KRS. Upon receiving the distress call, both police and fire brigade personnel promptly arrived at the scene. They successfully recovered two out of the three bodies and initiated a search operation to locate the remaining one.
They had joined a tour from Mysore along with over 20 individuals from the NGO. While at the tour, some participants entered the backwaters, engaging in activities such as swimming. Unfortunately, he drowned during these water-based activities. Despite attempts to rescue him, they were unsuccessful.
