CCB police arrest gang of highway robbers

Mangaluru: Mangaluru CCB police have arrested a gang that had plans to rob the passengers on the highway of Mangaluru and DK district.

On Monday, April 12 CCB police have arrested the gang of robbers from the Parari in Ulayibettu village while they were trying to stop the vehicles forcefully using deadly weapons. The arrested were identified as Tausir (28) of Marnamikatte Mangaluru, Mohammad Arafat (29), Taslim ( 27), Nasir Hussain (29), Mohammad Rafeeq (37), Mohammad Safwan (25), Mohammad Jainuddin (24), and Uzain (26) of Bantwal.

Police have also seized 2 swords, 2 knives, 1 dragon knife, 8 mobile phones, 5 monkey caps, 3 packets of chilly powder, and an Innova car. Mangaluru CCB unit inspector Mahesh Prasad, PSI Rajendra B, Pradeep T R, and other CCB staff participated in the operation under the guidance of DCP Hariram Shankar and DCP of the Crime and Traffic Department Vinay A Gaonkar.
