Mangaluru — A tragic incident has come to light in Kodikal, Mangaluru, where a 30-year-old man, identified as Nikhil Poojary, was found dead by suicide in his home on the evening of June 24.

According to family members, Nikhil had breakfast as usual on the morning of June 23 (Monday) and retreated to his room. As he often rested in the afternoons, no one found his absence alarming. However, when he didn’t emerge by evening, concern grew.

Repeated knocks and calls went unanswered. At around 8:15 p.m., family members managed to peek inside and were devastated to find that Nikhil had ended his life.

Initial reports suggest that Nikhil may have been under severe financial pressure. It is believed he had taken loans from multiple mobile lending applications and was unable to cope with the mounting debt.

Police from Urwa station have registered a case and are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the tragedy.

This incident underscores the growing concerns around digital lending platforms and the mental toll financial stress can have on individuals.
