Mangaluru: A serious plot is reportedly underway targeting the sacred Dharmasthala Kshetra, with potential links to terrorist activities, alleged Vasanth Gilliyar of the Punya Kshetra Sanrakshana Samiti. Addressing the media in Mangaluru, he expressed strong suspicion that foreign funds may have been used to orchestrate a campaign against this revered religious site.
Gilliyar stated that past threats from Naxal groups had already put Dharmasthala on the radar of anti-national elements. Now, he believes international outfits may be involved in a fresh attempt to destabilize the sanctity of the temple town. Given the gravity of the situation, he urged that the case be transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for a thorough and impartial probe.
He also raised concerns about an unidentified masked individual who has filed a complaint. According to Gilliyar, it remains unclear whom the person is accusing, and the use of images of Dharmasthala Kshetra, its Dharmadhikari, and the deity Sri Manjunatha Swamy in misleading or defamatory content is unacceptable.
He further claimed that malicious narratives are being circulated by unverified media sources and some YouTube channels, deliberately tarnishing the reputation of Dharmasthala. To counter this, he announced that a Dharmajagarana Samavesha (spiritual awareness meet) would be held in Dharmasthala later this month.
Gilliyar strongly appealed to law enforcement authorities to take immediate action against those spreading false information and misusing religious imagery.
