Mangaluru: Students of Expert PU College, Mangaluru, have delivered an impressive performance in the national-level Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026, with a significant number achieving top percentiles.
A total of 19 students from the institution scored above the 99 percentile, highlighting the college’s consistent academic excellence in competitive examinations. Notably, Ankit Ashok Dodawad achieved a perfect 100 percentile in physics, marking a remarkable accomplishment.
Strong overall performance
The results reflect a broad base of high achievers from the college. As many as 57 students scored above the 98 percentile, while 93 students secured more than 97 percentile.
Further, 130 students crossed the 96 percentile mark, 166 students scored above 95 percentile, and an impressive 377 students achieved over 90 percentile in the aptitude test conducted in March 2026.
These figures underline the depth of performance across the student cohort, not limited to just a handful of toppers.
Top rankers list
Among the top performers, Suhas Basanagouda Balanagoudra secured 99.70 percentile with an All India Rank (AIR) of 4,758. He was closely followed by Ankit Ashok Dodawad, who also scored 99.70 percentile (AIR 4,773).
Krutika Mallikarjun Patil achieved 99.62 percentile (AIR 6,076), while Uddandi Laxmi Meghana secured 99.59 percentile (AIR 6,508).
Other notable scorers include Samay A S (99.50), Milan Madesh S (99.49), Ujwal Shivanand Boodihal (99.42), Deepak Gowda M (99.42), D Navaneeth N Pai (99.41), Sai Shobith S (99.41), and Abhishek R Hanamantagoudar (99.41).
More high achievers
Several other students also performed exceptionally well. These include Arale Virupakshi (99.36), Naren V (99.34), Nithish Gopal (99.33), Yashas N M (99.33), Samarth Gowda R (99.29), Rishika K S (99.25), Chandan H R (99.17), and Nandan Nayak (99.17).
Their performance further strengthens the institution’s reputation as a leading coaching and academic centre for engineering aspirants.
About the examination
The JEE Main 2026 examination was conducted in two sessions — the first in January and the second in March. Final ranks were calculated based on candidates’ best performance across the two sessions.
The examination serves as a gateway for admission into premier engineering institutions across India, including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs).
