Mangaluru: The Catholic community organisation that was founded by businessmen, professionals, and farmers has announced the winners of its prestigious 2025 awards, recognising excellence among entrepreneurs, professionals, farmers, NRIs, and women achievers.

At a press conference held at the Mangalore Press Club, organisation president John B. Monteiro said the awardees were chosen by a jury of nearly 25 members after a detailed review process.

Awardees announced

Monteiro revealed that the following five achievers have been selected:

  • Creative Entrepreneur Award: Austin Roach, Bangalore

  • Creative Professional Award: J.R. Lobo, Mangalore

  • Creative Agriculturist Award: Dr. Godtin Rodrigues, Beluvai, Mangalore

  • Creative Non-Resident Entrepreneur Award: Pratap Mendonsa, Dubai

  • Creative Women Achiever Award: Shobha Mendonsa, Dubai

  • “These individuals have excelled in their respective fields, bringing pride to the Catholic community and serving as role models for younger generations,” Monteiro said.

    Award ceremony on October 5

    The awards will be conferred at a grand ceremony scheduled for Sunday, October 5 at 6 pm at Milagres Hall, Mangalore.

    The Bishop of Mangalore, Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, will preside over the event, while State Energy Minister K.J. George will be the chief guest.

    Distinguished personalities including Legislative Council member Ivan D’Souza, Burjeel Holdings Group CEO John Sunil (UAE), and former Vice Chancellor and Director of Bangalore University Dr. Cynthia Minaj will serve as guests of honour.

    Secretary Vijay V. Lobo, Treasurer Nelson Monteiro, Vice President Naveen Lobo, and organiser Eulalia D’Souza were also present at the press conference.

    The organisers noted that the awards have grown into one of the most respected recognitions for members of the Catholic community, aimed at celebrating excellence across different walks of life while inspiring service and leadership.
