White Doves, Kulshekar, will be organising a comprehensive Cancer Screening Camp along with a General Health Check-up Camp on Sunday, January 25, 2025, at its campus adjacent to the church, from 10.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
Expert medical services under one roof
The camp will be conducted in collaboration with Father Muller Medical College Hospital, with an experienced medical team offering services across multiple specialties. These include General Medicine, General Surgery, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dermatology, Orthopaedics, and Speech and Hearing.
Free screening and diagnostic facilities
The camp will provide free health services for all, including blood pressure checks, random blood sugar testing, ECG, speech and hearing assessments, breast cancer examinations, and PAP smear tests for women above 40 years of age for early detection of uterine cancer. Medicines required for conditions identified during the camp will also be distributed free of cost.
Focus on early cancer detection
Organisers highlighted that an increasing number of cancer cases are being detected at an advanced stage, underscoring the importance of regular screening. Men and women, especially women above 40 years, are strongly encouraged to utilise these facilities.
Participants found with breast-related abnormalities will be offered mammogram tests at concessional rates. Those with positive PAP smear results will be eligible for further tests up to ₹30,000 at Father Muller Medical College Hospital, facilitated through the Indian Cancer Society.
Awareness and follow-up care
A Cancer Awareness Talk will be held at 10.00 a.m. to educate the public on early signs, prevention, and the importance of timely diagnosis. Individuals requiring further evaluation or treatment will be referred to Father Muller Medical College Hospital for continued care.
