Puttur: The invitation card for the 4th Annual Sri Krishna Janmashtami Mosaru Kudike Utsav, organized by the Samuhika Sri Krishna Janmashtami Samiti, Bappalige-Singani, was formally released by MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta at Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple in Puttur.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of BJP Rural Mandal President Dayanand Shetty Ujiremar, Honorary President Ramachandra K Rao, President Mohan Gowda Singani, General Secretary Likhith Raj Aras, former and current committee members including Ravi Bappalige, Vasanth Bappalige, Subrahmanya and Dhanvith Singani, Suresh Nekkithapuni, Mahesh, Sandeep, Shashikumar, Jagadeesh, and many others from the local community.
This year’s Utsav is set for August 24, and promises grandeur and tradition. Popular Tulu actor Aravind Bolar and Daijiworld founder Walter Nandalike will be the special invitees, lending star power to the celebrations.
A vibrant procession will kick off at 8:30 a.m. from Bappalige Bypass, showcasing participants dressed as Sri Krishna, along with Kerala chende drummers, folk and doll dances, bhajans, band performances, and fireworks.
Traditional contests including tall pole, cross pole, tug of war, and more will add a competitive spirit. The tall pole winner will receive a cash prize of ₹3,501 and a memento.
The inaugural programme at 10:30 a.m. will feature dignitaries such as Panjigudde Ishwar Bhat, Ravichandra Nelliththaya, Srikanth Poojary Biravu, Balachandra Kemminje, and Naveen Kumar.
The valedictory ceremony at 5:30 p.m. will include MLA Ashok Kumar Rai, former MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor, Arun Kumar Puthila, Dr Ravi Narayan Bhat, and Dhananjay of Patla Friends Kalleka, among others.
