Mangaluru — KIOCL Limited’s Mangaluru plant has achieved a noteworthy milestone by earning the ‘Outstanding Official Language Implementation Award’, highlighting its strong dedication to promoting Hindi in day-to-day administrative work.
The award was conferred during the 76th biannual session of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), held on July 28, 2025, at the Zonal Office of Union Bank of India in Mangaluru.
The session was chaired by Mr. Rajendra Kumar, TOLIC Chairperson and Head of Union Bank’s Mangaluru Zone. Chief Guest Mr. Anirban Kumar Biswas, Deputy Director (Implementation), Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, reviewed Hindi adoption efforts across government institutions, public sector undertakings, and financial bodies before announcing KIOCL as the award recipient.
Mr. P. Palani, Chief General Manager In-charge, accepted the award on behalf of KIOCL. He was accompanied by Mr. Chetan Kumar Shetty, Assistant General Manager (HR & IR) and Official Language Nodal Officer, and Mr. Rupesh Kumar, Assistant Manager (HR) and Language Coordinator—both recognized for their instrumental roles.
Mr. Krishna Yadav, Chief Manager at Union Bank, effectively coordinated the event.
The honor sparked a wave of pride within KIOCL, with leadership extending appreciation to the language team for their structured and inclusive approach in promoting Hindi. Regular language-related initiatives and adherence to policy guidelines were key to securing the award.
KIOCL, a Miniratna-I CPSE under the Ministry of Steel, continues its operations with pelletisation and pig iron production facilities in Mangaluru.
