Mangaluru: A special lecture on renowned Kannada author Sreedhara Balagara’s novel Balipaada will be held on Friday, August 28, at 4 pm at Sannidhya Hall, St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru.

Eminent thinker and writer Laxmeesha Tolpadi will deliver the lecture, offering his philosophical reflections on Balipaada, a novel that explores the life, philosophy and socio-cultural transformations of the Kunbi community in Uttara Kannada district.

The programme is being organised by the Department of Kannada, St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), in association with Geleyara Balaga, Mangaluru.

Sreedhara Balagara will also be present at the event and will share his thoughts on the background and creative journey behind Balipaada. Acclaimed storyteller Sachidananda Hegde, poet Nagaraj Apgal and writer Kiranshyama, a member of Ruthumana Publications, will also participate in the literary discussion.

The event is expected to provide literature enthusiasts with an opportunity to engage with the themes and ideas presented in Balipaada, while gaining insights from the author and other literary personalities.
