MangaluruAs part of the Smart City mission’s area-based development, Mangaluru Smart City Limited (MSCL) has upgraded 54 schools across eight wards of the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC), according to Arun Prabha KS, MSCL’s general manager (technical).

Speaking at an event on Saturday where he handed over two food safety boxes to the Bejai Anganwadi Centre, Arun Prabha announced that the centre is set to be transformed into a smart anganwadi in the near future. He emphasized that the initiative is progressing steadily, aiming to make Bejai a model anganwadi by equipping it with enhanced infrastructure and learning tools.

This development has been made possible with the support of the Chief Minister’s media advisor KV Prabhakar and the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association, both of whom played a key role in boosting the anganwadi’s growth and visibility.

Leena Irene Govias, the headmistress of Kapikad-Bejai Government Higher Primary School, expressed her gratitude and urged authorities and stakeholders to extend similar support for the school’s development under the Smart City project.

These ongoing efforts reflect a broader push to modernize educational infrastructure and improve early childhood care across the city.
