Mangaluru – In a bid to shape its next phase of growth, MCC Bank hosted the Idea Summit 2025 on July 23 at Hotel Avatar, Attavar. The event served as a platform to discuss innovation, strategic direction, and long-term sustainability in banking.

Presided over by Sahakara Ratna Anil Lobo, chairman of MCC Bank, the summit featured an impressive lineup of speakers, including NRI entrepreneur Michael D’Souza, Dr Aloysius Sequeira of NITK Surathkal, CAs Maxim M Fernandes and Lionel Aranha, and veteran banker Allen C Pereira.

The event began with a prayer song by bank staff, followed by a presentation showcasing the bank’s achievements over the past seven years. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangalore, and Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, bishop of Udupi, inaugurated the summit alongside dignitaries.

Bishop Gerald Lobo, invoking the parable of the sower, encouraged the bank to embrace transparency, accountability, and social responsibility to achieve greater milestones in the coming decade.

Chairman Anil Lobo reflected on MCC Bank’s journey of overcoming hurdles and executing its vision with determination. He thanked all participants for contributing to the summit’s success.

Keynote speaker Michael D’Souza called the summit a turning point in defining the bank’s long-term roadmap. He stressed customer service, diversification through insurance and mutual fund tie-ups, and brand advocacy.

Dr Sequeira and CA Fernandes emphasized the importance of staying true to core values, MSME support, and co-operative banking’s local impact. CA Aranha proposed exploring services like Demat accounts, reverse mortgages, and contract farming. Allen C Pereira underlined technology adoption and youth engagement as critical for the future.

Several high-net-worth clients offered input, while Bishop Saldanha praised the bank’s dedication to community service.

The summit saw participation from top-level management, staff, depositors, and institutional heads, with Floyd D’Mello anchoring the event.
