Mangaluru: MCC Bank, one of the city’s leading cooperative banks, inaugurated its 12th ATM at the Kinnigoli branch on Saturday, September 13, marking another milestone in its expansion journey.
Dignitaries grace inauguration
The new ATM was officially inaugurated by Dr Rudolph Joyer Noronha, chief general manager – corporate branding and corporate communications, MRPL. The ceremony began with a blessing by Fr Joachim Fernandes, parish priest of Immaculate Conception Church, Kinnigoli, who invoked divine blessings for the bank’s continued growth.
The first withdrawal at the ATM was made by Fr Paul Sequeira, parish priest of St Paul’s Church, Balkunje.
Among the chief guests were Jerome D’Almeida, former NRI and secretary of Catholic Sabha Kinnigoli, and Dhananjaya P Shettigar, proprietor of Chaitanya Medicals and Sagarika Arrangers, Kinnigoli. MCC Bank’s general manager Sunil Menezes and branch manager Anil R D’Souza were also present on the dais.
Chairman highlights growth
The function was presided over by Sahakara Ratna Anil Lobo, chairman of MCC Bank. In his presidential address, he thanked the Kinnigoli branch customers for their continued support over the past 28 years and highlighted the bank’s remarkable growth.
“In the last seven years, MCC Bank’s turnover has increased from ₹500 crore to ₹1,300 crore,” he said, outlining future expansion plans including new branches at Santhekatte, Deralakatte, and other locations. He also emphasised the bank’s tradition of honouring achievers in education, sports, and arts, and assured that MCC Bank would remain committed to providing uncompromising, high-quality service.
Guest speeches
Delivering the first keynote address, Fr Joachim Fernandes congratulated the bank on the inauguration of its 12th ATM. Recalling his association with MCC Bank since 1996, he praised the institution’s customer-friendly approach and urged it to continue value-based service while expanding across Karnataka and beyond.
Dr Rudolph Joyer Noronha, in his address, commended MCC Bank’s professionalism and sound financials despite the challenges of a competitive market. He pledged his support and encouraged the bank to maintain its growth trajectory.
Fr Paul Sequeira applauded the leadership of chairman Anil Lobo and extended his best wishes for the bank’s continued progress.
Felicitation of achievers
The programme also included the felicitation of achievers. Students who excelled in SSLC and PUC examinations were honoured alongside Nikitha Reona D’Souza (for completing CA), Dr Melisha Rodrigues (for securing NEET PG All India Rank 163), and Shown Sequeira (a karate champion).
As part of the celebrations, customers whose birthdays fell on September 13 were recognised with a special cake-cutting. Daniel D’Souza, who turns 75 on September 19, was also felicitated.
Event highlights
The programme commenced with a prayer led by Ancilla Fernandes and Dealle D’Souza. Director Dr Freeda Flavia D’Souza welcomed the gathering, while Lavita D’Souza of Mulki compered the event and proposed the vote of thanks.
The event was attended by MCC Bank directors, including Andrew D’Souza, Melwin Vas, David D’Souza, deputy general manager Raj Menezes, several branch managers, staff, and a large number of customers.
