SURATHKAL: MCC Bank Ltd. marked another milestone in its growth journey with the inauguration of its 10th ATM at the Surathkal Branch on Sunday, 10 August 2025. The event combined tradition, technology, and community spirit, drawing prominent dignitaries, religious leaders, bank officials, and well-wishers.

Ceremony blends blessings and technology

The ATM was inaugurated by Mohammed Haneef, Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales Consultant, and blessed by Rev. Fr Austin Peter Peris, Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church, Surathkal, who invoked divine guidance for the bank’s future. Chief Guest Rev. Fr Stany Pinto, Parish Priest of Holy Spirit Church, Mukka, also graced the occasion. The first transaction was made by Mebail Sadashiva Shetty, Proprietor of Sri Durga Financial Corporation.

The function was presided over by Sahakara Rathna Anil Lobo, Chairman of MCC Bank Ltd. In his address, he highlighted the bank’s progress from ₹500 crore in business volume to ₹1,300 crore over the past eight years. He attributed this success to strong leadership, dedicated teamwork, and the trust of customers. Lobo stressed that MCC Bank is “a people’s bank,” belonging to its customers and communities, and announced plans to expand to 25 branches by the end of the financial year.

Lobo revealed that MCC Bank is preparing to launch UPI (Unified Payments Interface) services, positioning the bank alongside modern fintech trends. He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to delivering high-quality service without compromise.

Rev. Fr Austin Peter Peris commended MCC Bank for making banking facilities accessible, likening financial circulation to the lifeblood of a community. He lauded the bank’s decision to open back-to-back ATMs in Belman and Surathkal, even during challenging times such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Rev. Fr Stany Pinto highlighted the importance of accessible cash services amid recent monetary policy changes, praising the bank’s transparency and community focus.

The event featured a special felicitation for Surathkal branch customers celebrating birthdays. General Manager Sunil Menezes welcomed the dignitaries and offered floral greetings, while a prayer was led by staff member Alwyn Xavier D’Souza. Senior Manager Deril Lasrado compered the programme and delivered the vote of thanks.
