The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has issued a directive requiring apartments with over 30 flats, commercial complexes larger than 5,000 square feet, and establishments generating more than 100 kilograms of solid waste per day to segregate their waste into wet, dry, and hazardous categories.

Additionally, these entities must process wet waste on-site and convert it into manure by January 15, 2025. The MCC has emphasized that failure to comply with these regulations will result in a fine of Rs 15,000. This move aims to promote effective waste management and reduce the environmental impact of large establishments in the city.
