Mangaluru: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, sponsored essential physiotherapy equipment to Government Wenlock Hospital to strengthen rehabilitation services for patients.

The equipment was handed over during a programme organised by the Rotary Club of Mangalore at the hospital premises.

CSR initiative to strengthen rehabilitation services

The initiative aims to enhance physiotherapy and rehabilitation facilities, particularly benefiting patients from economically weaker sections who rely on government healthcare services.

Officials noted that improved access to physiotherapy equipment will support post-surgical recovery, injury rehabilitation, and long-term patient care, contributing to better health outcomes.

Rotary District Grant supports healthcare facilities

The initiative was implemented under the Rotary District Grant Project for 2025–26, through which the Rotary Club of Mangalore facilitated the provision of multiple healthcare resources.

These included rehabilitation support systems, laparoscopic surgical instruments, and physiotherapy equipment, aimed at strengthening overall patient care infrastructure at the hospital.

The programme was attended by P. K. Ramakrishna, District Governor of Rotary International, and Rajani R. Bhat, Assistant Governor.

MRPL was represented by Shri Prashant Baliga, CGM (Administration), and Shri Keshav Patali, Manager (CSR).

Commitment to community healthcare

MRPL officials stated that the initiative reflects the company’s continued commitment to supporting public healthcare infrastructure through CSR activities.

By partnering with service organisations such as Rotary, MRPL aims to contribute to accessible, quality healthcare services for the community, particularly for those in need.

The programme highlights the importance of collaborative efforts between industry and social organisations in strengthening healthcare delivery systems in the region.
