Mangaluru: The Father Muller Kankanady Campus witnessed a meaningful milestone on 9 December 2025 as the Homoeopathic OPD and Pharmacy were blessed and inaugurated in their newly renovated space. Returning to its former College OPD location, the upgraded facility—spread across the lower and mezzanine floors of the OPD building—now offers improved accessibility and a fresh environment for patient care.

Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, inaugurated the renovated premises and led the gathering in prayer. Reflecting on Matthew 5:13, where Jesus calls His followers the “salt of the earth,” he reminded attendees of their responsibility to preserve values and spread goodness through their work.
He also invoked the legacy of Fr Augustus Muller SJ, founder of FMCI, who pioneered compassionate Homoeopathic care for leprosy patients. With the OPD’s “homecoming,” he encouraged doctors to draw renewed inspiration, underscoring that Homoeopathy holds an esteemed place within FMCI’s integrated healthcare vision.

Renewed infrastructure for better patient service
The previous Homoeopathic OPD, located in the Utility Building, was relocated to accommodate expansion of the FMMCH Medical Store and to provide improved patient access. With strong patient trust in Homoeopathic treatment, the renovated OPD fulfils a long-standing need for a more spacious and patient-friendly environment.
Rev. Fr Nelson Dheeraj Pais announced a 30% discount on Homoeopathic pharmaceutical products from 15 December 2025 to 15 January 2026, benefitting the public and marking the opening with a community-centred gesture.
Strengthening FMCI’s integrative healthcare mission
The inauguration united representatives from multiple FMCI institutions, underscoring the organisation’s holistic approach to healthcare. The refurbished Homoeopathic OPD now stands as a testament to FMCI’s heritage of healing, its renewed purpose, and its continued dedication to accessible, compassionate, patient-centred care.
