Pushparaj B N has been elected president of the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association (DKDWJA) for the 2025–2028 term. The election, held on Sunday at the Department of Information and Public Relations office auditorium in Mangaluru, witnessed an active turnout, with 331 of the 352 registered members casting their votes
Pushparaj B N secured a decisive victory over Shravan Kumar in the presidential contest. Rajesh K Poojary was elected as the general secretary, while Vijay Kotian Padu was chosen unopposed as the treasurer.
Vice presidents and secretaries elected
In the election for vice presidents, Muhammad Arif Padubidre, Wilfred D’Souza, and Rajesh Shetty won their respective contests, defeating I B Sandeep Kumar and Gangadhar Kallapalli.
The secretary posts were secured by Siddiq Neeraje, Suresh D Palli, and Satish Ira, while Rajesh Daddangadi missed out in the competition.

The newly elected executive committee comprises Ashok Shetty B N, Sandesh Jara, Sandeep Kumar, Lakshmi Narayan, Harish Motukana, Divakar Padmunja, Kiran Sirsikar, Abhishek H S, Jayashree, Bhuvaneshwar, Sandeep Wagle, Harish K Adoor, Girish Adpangaya, Sandeep Salyan, and Arif Kalkatta.
State association representative elected
In the election for the Dakshina Kannada representative to the Karnataka State Working Journalists’ Association’s state executive committee, Srinivas Naik Indaje emerged victorious, defeating Ansar Inoli.
Orderly and well-conducted poll
The elections were conducted smoothly under the supervision of Khader Shah, senior assistant director at the Department of Information and Public Relations, Dakshina Kannada, who served as the election officer.
The newly elected team will serve a three-year term, with a focus on strengthening professional collaboration among journalists and promoting welfare initiatives for media professionals in the district.
