Mangaluru: Allegations surrounding the long-standing unnatural death and alleged murders in Dharmasthala have resurfaced, with SDPI Rural District President Anwar Sadat Bajattoor demanding a thorough, impartial investigation under the supervision of a sitting High Court judge.
Addressing a press conference at the SDPI district office on Tuesday, Anwar Sadat alleged that over four decades of suspicious deaths have been ignored due to the political collusion of the Congress and BJP. “These parties are scared today because they have worked to shield the truth for years. But the law is above all, and civil society will no longer stay silent,” he declared.
Sadat urged the Hindu community to understand the seriousness of the issue and join in seeking justice, saying, “No one is beyond accountability—not even those historically considered untouchable by law.”
He criticized the state government’s inaction despite a former worker expressing willingness to testify, alleging that the Dharmasthala Grama administration is working to shield key individuals. “Even though SP Dr. Arun Kumar is leading the probe, it is evident that some of his subordinates are compromised,” he added.
Other SDPI leaders present included State Vice President Shahida Tannim, Mangaluru Rural VP Inas Rodrigues, City District General Secretary Muhammad Jamal, and Belthangady Assembly President Aktar Belthangady.
The SDPI announced a statewide agitation, beginning with a protest in Dharmasthala on July 17 at 3 PM, demanding justice and transparency.
