Authorities in Pandeshwar, Mangaluru, have arrested six men — identified as Ganesh, Shreyas, Chinchu, Chandan, Nagaraj, and Ramachandra — in connection with a suspected moral policing incident near the State Bank service bus stand on August 11.

According to police, the case involves a pre-university college (PUC) student and a young man. The student reported that after finishing classes, she was walking with a male relative of her friend when a group of seven to eight unidentified individuals intercepted them. The suspects allegedly questioned her about her relationship with the man, the nature of their conversation, and reportedly threatened her life.

The alleged incident occurred as the pair were heading from the service bus stand area. The student stated that the confrontation left her feeling intimidated and unsafe.

Following her complaint, Pandeshwar police registered a case and launched an investigation. Six suspects were taken into custody, while efforts are on to identify and locate others who may have been involved. Officials have stressed that moral policing incidents will be treated seriously, particularly when they involve minors, and that strict action will be taken against those responsible.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities reviewing evidence and witness statements to establish the full sequence of events.
