Mangaluru: A two-week yoga camp promoting holistic health and well-being through the timeless practice of yoga was inaugurated at Sri Ramakrishna Math, near Mangaladevi, Mangaluru. The event began on a spiritual note with the blessings of Swami Jitakamanandaji Maharaj, President of the Ashram.

In his keynote address, Swami Jitakamanandaji underscored that authentic health extends beyond physical strength, emphasizing the harmony of body, mind, and spirit. He spoke of the deeper dimensions of well-being—self-awareness, mental clarity, discipline, and alignment with nature—rooted in ethical living and purposeful action.

Renowned yoga practitioner Sri Delampady delved into the significance of meditation within the yogic path. Referring to Patanjali Rishi’s Ashtanga Yoga, he described meditation as the seventh limb, essential for deep self-realization and inner transformation.

Delampady explained that meditation sharpens focus, calms mental turbulence, and guides the practitioner toward inner joy and peace. Through sustained practice, one experiences relief from mental stress, heightened clarity, and emotional balance. He emphasized its role in developing both mental and spiritual strength.

The camp’s success is attributed to the combined efforts of Sri Delampady and his dedicated disciples—Suma, Bharathi, Chandrahas Balya, Tukaram, and Prema—who contributed to the organization and execution of the sessions.

Participants are encouraged to register through the Ashram office for this enriching experience, designed to instill lifelong wellness tools. For more information, the Ashram can be contacted at 0824-2414412.

This initiative continues Sri Ramakrishna Math’s mission to promote inner peace, discipline, and holistic living through yoga and meditation.
