Poovari, the only monthly Tulu magazine published from Puttur in Dakshina Kannada under the editorship of Vikub Hebbarbailu, achieved a major international milestone with the ceremonial launch of its June special edition at the prestigious ‘AATA Siri Parba – 2025’ held in Raleigh, North Carolina.

This landmark event coincided with Poovari’s 10th anniversary and was organized by the Triangle Tuluvere Chauki, under the banner of the Akhila America Tulu Angana (AATA) — a federation of 18 Tulu associations across the US and Canada.

The release ceremony was graced by a host of distinguished Tulu community leaders and cultural ambassadors including Dr Saigeetha Mangaluru, Dr Ravi Shetty Moodambail (Qatar), Shekhar Naik (Connecticut), AATA founder Bhaskar Sherigar (Boston), AATA president Srivalli Rai Martel (Florida), and Siri Parba coordinator Ranjani Asaigoli (North Carolina), among others.

With over 20 million Tulu speakers worldwide and nearly 40 communities identifying Tulu as their mother tongue, Poovari’s overseas debut is being hailed as a cultural milestone. The launch symbolizes a proud global moment for Tulunad’s language, heritage, and identity, reaching into homes across North America and beyond.
