Mangaluru – The Karnataka Rajya Mahavidyalaya Shikshak Sangh, Mangaluru division, has launched a Tree Plantation Competition for the years 2025 to 2027, aimed at encouraging eco-friendly practices and environmental awareness among educational institutions.

The competition invites participation from teaching and non-teaching staff of primary, high school, pre-university, degree, and postgraduate institutions across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kodagu districts.

Participants must plant saplings of fruit-bearing or beneficial trees—such as Mango, Jackfruit, or Jamun—between June 5 and July 31, 2025. The initiative encourages long-term care, as contestants are required to submit photos or videos every six months to document plant growth.

This two-year challenge will culminate on June 5, 2027, when the top 10 participants who have nurtured the healthiest and most well-maintained trees will be recognized and awarded at a special event.
