The Vengeri Cooperative Bank has extended a temporary job offer to Krishna Priya, the wife of Arjun, the truck driver missing since a landslide in Shirur, Karnataka. Krishna Priya is set to be appointed as a junior clerk, with the potential for permanent employment pending government regulations.
Despite a Karnataka High Court order for the search to resume, operations have been suspended for over a week due to adverse weather conditions, as reported by the Karnataka government. The Kerala government has expressed full support for the family. Kerala Chief Minister assured assistance in a written response to the family’s petition during a visit on August 4, which was also relayed by the District Collector.
Arjun disappeared from the riverbank after the landslide on July 16. A 13-day search in both land and water yielded no results, and current suspicions suggest he might be trapped in his truck buried under mud. Dakshina Kannada district authorities confirmed that no human presence was detected in the riverbed during previous search efforts.
