Seven people were killed and one injured in a collision between a car and a crane that happened in Patna, Bihar, on Monday, according to the police. In Patna’s Ramlakhan Path neighborhood, an uncontrollably driven vehicle collided with a crane that was a part of the Patna Metro project.
Among the seven dead were a woman and a child. There were four dead at the scene, plus three more who died en route to Patna Central Hospital. One more patient is being treated at the hospital.
The crane was struck by a speeding car that then sped across the road, according to CCTV footage of the collision. Police-released images showed bodies on the road, lying in pools of blood.
An investigation has been initiated into the case, police said.
