Jaipur: A disturbing incident unfolded in Rajasthan‘s Kanota police station area as a 19-year-old Dalit girl was subjected to gangrape by two bus drivers during a journey on the night of December 9-10. The Jaipur Police confirmed the arrest of one suspect, 22-year-old Arif Khan, while the second accused, Lalit Kumar (24), is currently evading law enforcement.
The victim, traveling from Kanpur to Jaipur to meet her uncle, who had assured her a job at a stitching company, found herself in a horrifying situation. According to ACP (Kanota) Phool Chandra Meena, the accused coerced her to sleep in a locked driver’s cabin, hidden from the view of other passengers.
To further silence her screams, the perpetrators turned up the music inside the cabin. When the bus entered the Kanota police station area, some passengers noticed the alarming situation and raised an alert. The bus was halted near a petrol pump, resulting in a brief scuffle. The police intervened, took Arif Khan into custody, but the second driver managed to escape.
Meena mentioned that multiple teams have been deployed to various cities to track down Lalit Kumar, the absconding accused.
