Gurugram: A horrifying incident unfolded as a 13-year-old domestic help was allegedly subjected to brutal torture, including being beaten, stripped, and bitten by a dog, by the members of a family residing in Sector 57. The victim’s mother filed a complaint, leading to the police booking a woman and her two sons involved in the heinous act.

Details of the Horrific Torture

According to the victim’s mother, who hails from Bihar, the owner of the house where the girl worked frequently beat her with an iron rod and a hammer. Additionally, the woman’s two sons reportedly misbehaved with the victim, engaged in inappropriate touching, forcibly stripped her, and recorded a video of the traumatic incident. The family subjected the girl to further cruelty by pouring acid on her hands. The victim was even threatened with death if she dared to disclose the abuse to anyone.

Captive in a Room and Freed by Mother and Employer

The FIR filed by the victim’s mother narrates that the girl was held captive in a room, her mouth taped shut. It was only through the intervention of the victim’s mother and her employer that she was eventually freed from this horrifying captivity. The employer accompanied the victim’s mother to the house and played a crucial role in liberating the girl.

Shocking Revelations and Economic Exploitation

The victim’s mother revealed that her daughter was offered accommodation along with a monthly salary of Rs 9,000. However, the salary was reportedly paid for only the first two months. The family allegedly restricted any contact between the victim and her mother during visits or phone calls. The victim’s mother expressed gratitude to her employer, who assisted in filing the complaint and securing the release of her daughter.

Legal Action Taken

The police registered an FIR at Sector 57 police station, invoking charges of cruelty to animals, causing hurt, outraging the modesty of women, and criminal intimidation against Shashi Sharma and her two sons. Additionally, they were booked under Section 10 of the POCSO Act and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act. The legal proceedings will aim to bring justice to the victim and hold the accused accountable for their brutal actions. The case sheds light on the vulnerability of domestic workers and the urgent need for measures to protect their rights and well-being.
