Members of the Mysuru Cinema Society (MCS) unveiled the official poster for the third edition of the International Festival of Short Films and Documentaries, ‘Paridrushya’, which will take place on February 1 and 2 in Mysuru, Karnataka. The announcement was made on Monday.
During the press conference, MCS secretary Padmavati Bhat shared that the festival is being organized in partnership with Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana. It will be held at Kaveri and Nala Auditoriums, located at the Mukthagangotri campus of the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU). MCS coordinator G R Chetan added that the festival will be inaugurated by renowned actor and director Prakash Belawadi, writer Manek Premchand, and KSOU Vice-Chancellor Sharanappa Halase. The event will also be graced by writer, director, and producer Prithvi Konanur, Mysore-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, and MLA T S Srivathsa.
Bhat further revealed that ‘Paridrushya’ received an impressive 3,123 entries from 109 countries. The festival will feature films from across the globe, with 985 entries from India alone. Other notable submissions include films from Iran (42), France (138), Italy (5), Germany (108), Russia (88), and the USA (82), along with 73 Kannada films. A jury of distinguished industry experts will select winners across 26 categories. Union Minister L Murugan is expected to attend the awards ceremony.
MCS members Jogi Manju, Seema Burude, and Venugopal were also present at the announcement.
