Mysuru: The state is witnessing a noticeable rise in heart attack cases, leading to a surge in patients visiting Jayadeva Hospital in Mysuru.
Every day, hundreds of people queue up outside the hospital from early morning hours, hoping to consult specialists.
Many individuals are choosing to head straight to Jayadeva Hospital instead of seeking help at nearby local healthcare centres.
Doctors note that a large number of these patients are arriving not because they are having an actual heart attack but out of anxiety and fear of experiencing one.
Hospital officials report that approximately 400 to 500 people from neighbouring districts come daily for check-ups and treatment.
The growing influx has put pressure on resources, prompting hospital management to appeal to the public to first visit primary health centres for initial evaluation unless an emergency occurs.
