Union Minister for Heavy Industries, H.D. Kumaraswamy, on Saturday underscored the importance of delivering centrally funded scheme benefits transparently to rightful recipients. Leading a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee meeting at the zilla panchayat hall, he noted that unusually heavy rains had damaged crops. He directed officials to submit precise assessments and initiate suitable relief measures promptly.

Mysuru MP Yaduveer Wadiyar stressed identifying and fixing accident-prone black spots on national highways. He also requested comprehensive updates on the Chamundi Hill Prasadam programme and urged progress under the Swadesh Darshan tourism initiative.

Concerns were raised about poor waste disposal practices in Siddalingapura gram panchayat, prompting instructions for immediate corrective action.

Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikant Reddy informed attendees that 95% of the land needed for the Mysuru-Kushalnagar National Highway-275 has been secured. Regarding the runway extension at Mysuru Airport, he explained that approximately 240 acres were essential and that most acquisitions were complete. The project is currently in the tender process.
