Mangalore : Former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda has strongly resented the attempts made by a few to dent the image of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala over the Sowjanya case.
Speaking to press men here on October 17, Thursday, Gowda said the BJP would never accept such attempts and added he was strongly in favour of a CBI probe into the Sowjanya rape and murder case in the event her family was not happy with the present CID probe.
He also was critical of the state government for not releasing the compensation announced for areca growers and urged for the immediate release of the same. DVS also informed that the affected areca growers would participate in a protest to be held at Puttur on October 29.
DVS also spoke about the Yettinahole project which incidentally was approved during his Chief Ministership and tried to defend the project. He said the project would not have any adverse affects and assured to request the officials concerned to dispel fears in the minds of the public regarding the project.
