Dubai: Kannada monthly magazine Gulf Ishara was launched during the Ishq-e-Rasool Milad Conference orgainsed by the Karnataka Cultural Foundation(KCF) Dubai zone.
Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Kagodu Timmappa handed over the first copy of the magazine to the Karnataka Health minister U T Khader. The magazine is the first Kannada magazine to come up in the UAE.
Speaking on the occasion, Kagodu Timmappa appreciated the contribution of KCF and urged all the young leaders of the association to work for the society. He also urged for a conference to be held in Bengaluru with the intention of making every Kannadiga aware about KCF and the work they do.
U T Khader, on the occasion, wished all success to the magazine in the coming years with a large number of readers.
Kodagu district Jamyatul Ulama general secretary and Kodagu district Jamat Khazi Shikhuna Mohammod Musliyar Yedapala guided the Nasiat and Dua.
State SSF President Shafi Sa-adi, Ishara general editor Abdul Hameed Bajpe also spoke on the occasion.
The Editor of the magazine said that these days most of the newspapers are puppets in the hands of corporates. “The society does not get what it expects from a newspaper. We need to work on these issues”, he said.
State SSF Vice-president Abdul Rahman Razwi Kalkatta wished the team all the sucess.
KCF UAE National Committee president Abdul Hameed Sadi Ishwaramangila presided over the program.
