3rd Holy Quran recitation open competition – 2016

Abu Dhabi: The India Social & Cultural Centre has been in existence in Abu Dhabi since 1967. Today it stands as an iconic symbol of the pride and prestige of the whole Indian Community in the entire UAE. Apart from undertaking community projects, the Centre with its State-of- The-Art facilities is well equipped to cater to the Sports, Socio-Cultural needs of over 8000 family members. The Centre also works as an effective platform in bridging the Indo-Arab cultural link and fostering the age old relationship between the two Nations.
In reminiscence of the Death Anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, ISC is conducting UAE Open Holy Quran Recitation Competition in association with Ministry of AWQAF as part of our social commitment towards the society. This is the 3rd consecutive year that we are conducting this prestigious event in ISC. The objectives of the competition are to encourage UAE Nationals and expatriate community in the country to read & memorize the Holy Quran and to recite in a competitive environment. The recitation will be judged by an eminent panel of judges Approved by the Ministry of Awqaf.

The Organizing Committee is as follows:

The competition will be starting from 20th of June, 2016 for a period of 4 days after the Tharawih prayer from 10.00 pm. This event is open to all Nationalities and the entry is free. ISC expects good attendance for the event and necessary arrangements have been made accordingly.

Prayer facilities will be arranged in ISC, Bus pick-up and drop-off arrangements will also be arranged from various locations.

The Competition will be held in categories as follows:

· The winners in each category will be awarded with Mementos and Cash Prizes.  

· All shortlisted participants will be awarded with appreciation certificates and consolation prizes

· Competition is restricted for UAE Nationals and the other nationalities with valid residency.

· Contestant can participate in one level/category only.

· The last date of submission of entry forms will be of 19th June 2016.

· Contestants shall be submitted their entry forms in ISC with their valid Passport copy, Emirates ID, Residence Visa page, and 2 passport size photographs.

· The decision of the Judges shall be final and binding.

The event is supported by the Indian and Local business communities, registered and regional associations and is receiving good feedback from the members of ISC and the Indian Community.

The Major part of contributions received from the well wishers shall be earmarked towards humanitarian causes, less prize money and other expenses.

We seek sincere and wholehearted support from all media personnel to convey this message to the maximum population across UAE. With your support the deserving talents will get the chance to reap the benefit of such a wonderful competition.
