Mangalore Cup – 2018 to be held on March 2

Abu Dhabi: The Mangalorean Cricket Club (MCC) will be hosting the sixth season of over arm cricket tournament, ‘Mangalore cup 2018’ at Sheikh Zayed International Cricket stadium, on March 2.

Speaking to the media MCC President Lathif KH said that the tournament, which is into its sixth season now has only been growing bigger and better over the five seasons. Just like the previous season, the tournament will be held at the International cricket pitch and we are expecting a turnout of over 5000 people, he said adding that more teams would be participating in the event that has been receiving good support from UAE Kannadigas as well as cricket buffs.

There will be a live telecast of the entire tournament, said the event organisers adding that there will be a Jet Airways air ticket lucky draw for the spectators. Many leading companies will be distributing their free products at the event venue. In order to build a network among the Kannadiga NRI communities, a Mangalore Fest will be organized. There will be a separate kids’ corner for children’s activities & family events. Various activities such as face painting, kid’s games, Mehendi and other games for ladies will be separately organized at the International Cricket Stadium Hall. The spectators have a chance to win lucky draw prizes.

The opening and prize distribution ceremony will be attended by several delegates. The event will also feature the release of the book on ”MCC Milestones”.

The winners will get a AED 11,000 cash prize and a trophy, while the runners-up will get a trophy and cash prize of AED 6,000.

There will be cash prizes and trophies for the Man of the series, Best batsman, Best bowler, Best Keeper, Best fielder, Best all-rounder, Best catcher, Man of the match in the final, and Man of match in every league.
