Bengaluru: Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah held the fifth and final poll guarantee registration event here on Tuesday, providing graduates and diploma holders with unemployment assistance.

On January 12, 2024, Swami Vivekananda’s birthday, the scheme will begin to be implemented. For graduates and diploma holders who passed in the 2022–2023 academic year, respectively, the scheme provides financial assistance of Rs 3,000 and Rs 1,500. The officials stated that candidates must demonstrate that they have been a resident of Karnataka for a minimum of six years. The money would be awarded to those who are unable to find employment even 180 days after the degree or diploma is awarded.

The unemployed benefit will be paid for a period of two years from the date the results were announced, or until the individual finds employment or becomes self-employed, whichever comes first. The recipients’ bank accounts will receive a direct transfer of the funds. Applicants who work for themselves and pursue further education are not eligible for this program. Minister of Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Sharanaprakash Patil claims that this year’s budget of Rs 250 crore has been set aside for the program. The state is expected to spend about Rs 2,500 crore the following year, and another Rs 1,250 crore the year after that. To apply for the benefit, one must visit the “Seva Sindhu portal” or use one of the following channels: “Karnataka One,” “Bengaluru One,” “Grama One,” and ‘Bapuji Seva Kendra’.
