In a startling revelation, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has apprehended Sama Parveen, a Bengaluru resident originally from Jharkhand, over allegations of supporting the outlawed extremist group Al-Qaeda. Officials claim Parveen disseminated radical material via Instagram and engaged with multiple individuals previously detained for suspected extremist ties.

Investigators revealed that Parveen was in frequent contact with four men — two from Gujarat and two from the Delhi-Noida region — arrested earlier this year for promoting Al-Qaeda’s ideology online. She allegedly joined militant-aligned Instagram groups and shared inflammatory messages, including content endorsing “Ghazwa-e-Hind,” a call for religious conflict popular among radical elements.

Authorities stated that digital evidence retrieved from her devices corroborates her involvement in online propaganda networks. Forensic analysis tied five suspicious Instagram accounts directly to her, triggering a detailed probe and her eventual arrest in Bengaluru’s Manoramapalya area.

During interrogation, Parveen reportedly admitted to sharing provocative content designed to radicalize youth. The ATS, following inputs from previously detained suspects, used advanced surveillance and cyber-tracking tools to trace her online footprint.

She has also been linked to an ongoing case related to the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) in Jharkhand. Following her arrest, Parveen was presented before the 8th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, who permitted her transfer to Gujarat for further questioning.

The ATS is now investigating whether Parveen acted independently or as part of a broader extremist network operating in South India. Further interrogation and digital analysis are underway to uncover the full extent of her connections.
