Bengaluru: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized 5.22 kg of ganja, valued at around ₹4,02,000, from an unclaimed bag at Bengaluru Cantonment Railway Station on Thursday.
Suspicious bag leads to major recovery
According to RPF officials, the suspicious bag was found in the station yard during routine checks. Upon inspection, bundles wrapped in plastic were discovered, prompting officials to alert the excise department.
Excise officers later confirmed the contents to be ganja, leading to the registration of a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Investigation underway
Authorities are now working to trace the individuals involved in the trafficking of the narcotics. CCTV footage from the station and surrounding areas is being examined as part of the investigation.
