When German two wheeler auto manufacturer BMW Motorrad, announced its tie up with India’s TVS Motors- part of the TVS group conglomerate, there was a palpable air of excitement in the Indian auto consumer market. The expectations heightened after the Joint Venture announced the launch of their new model G 310 R. This was an entry level model, intended to woo multiple consumer segments across the country.
However it seems, consumers will have to wait for some more time to purchase the G 310 R. The initial plan as specified by BMW Motorrad TVS was to launch the model in the festive season of 2016, so as to encash on the heavy buying spree in the urban as well as the rural centers. However now the company
has deferred the plan and the launch is supposed to happen in the early part of 2017.

Although the company has not specified any particular reasons as such, according to sources it is the delay in availability of spare parts which has forced the management to go for a delayed launch. The need for a balance in the demand supply equation, so that manufacturing turnover can satisfy the
specified market product requirement, seems to be the prime factor inducing the management to adopt a patient approach strategy.

The product features of G 310 R includes a 313cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine that can churn out 34 BHP @ 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of torque @ 7,500 rpm. The model is unique for the German two wheeler manufacturer, in the sense that it is the smallest model among all the products
that the company has manufactured.
