Instagram, owned by Meta, is currently testing a new feature that lets friends add images to posts.
Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced the development on his broadcast channel.
“A new Instagram test. A new feature to invite friends to participate in your feed posts has just gone into test. You can allow your followers to submit images and/or videos before publishing a carousel, which you can then approve to be added to the post,” the speaker said.
Instagram gives you the option to allow followers to submit their own images and videos for inclusion when you are about to post pictures on your profile.
You must authorize each picture and video submission before they can be automatically added to your post.
Mosseri posted a screenshot of the feature, which shows a “add to post” button in the lower-left corner. Instagram is currently testing a new feature that will allow users to upload a quick video to their Notes to change their profile picture.
“Within notes, users will soon have the option to change their default profile photo by playing a brief looping video. You can still use text to share a thought in addition to the video. Tell us what you think if you start seeing videos in your notes,” Mosseri stated.
According to the demo video, when users begin to create a note, a new camera icon will appear on the profile picture. They can record a video to upload to Notes from that icon.
